Ethan F. Goodwin

Ethan F. Goodwin's aspiration to become an attorney originated at Chamberlain ♦ McHaney in 2001 when he worked as the firm's runner while completing his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin. After being awarded an undergraduate degree, he moved to Lansing, Michigan to attend Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he elected to enter Cooley's Litigation Concentration and develop the skills necessary to function as an effective civil litigator. This curriculum focused on pretrial and trial tactics as well as alternative dispute resolution techniques and procedures. Mr. Goodwin continued to develop these skills outside the classroom by advancing in Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions and mediating cases for the Small Claims Division of the 55th District Court for Ingham County, Michigan. Prior to being awarded a Juris Doctorate in 2008, Mr. Goodwin returned to Austin to continue developing his skills by externing at the firm under the supervision of J. Gordon McHaney. Following graduation, he accepted a position as the firm's law clerk where he assisted in the litigation of a wide variety of civil cases and gained substantial trial experience with Ranelle M. Meroney and Catherine Kyle. Mr. Goodwin realized his aspiration of becoming an attorney at Chamberlain ♦ McHaney following the release of the July 2009 Texas Bar Examination results.
